The Andes and its weavers 8D / 7N

This trip will take us to the heart of the Andean Culture. We will visit hidden communities where it appears that time has stood still and where the Andean culture is expressed in its purest form. In between beautiful mountain ranges, glaciers, lagoons and herds of Alpacas, the locals will open their homes to us and share their lives, customs, the richness of their culture as well as their agricultural and artisan traditions.
The local weavers will teach us their textile traditions as well as their community’s iconography and natural dying techniques using local plants.
Music is an integral part of the region, with different regions of Peru having traditional instruments and distinctive sounds. We will be introduced to the music of the local communities, aiding us to further understand the Andes and its people.
If you would like to extend your itinerary we will also visit Lake Titicaca, the birthplace of the Inca culture. We will then move into the Amazon jungle, where the biodiversity will astound you, the intensity of the colors, sounds and abundance of life.
